Queenslanders continue to be world leaders in embracing renewable technologies.

In the dawn of increased electrification for homes and businesses, a distribution network connection is becoming the gateway to taking advantage of new technologies and accessing emerging energy markets.

The Queensland Electricity and Connection Manual (QECM) and its predecessors have been a staple for electrical contractors connecting to the Energex and Ergon Energy networks for decades.

This year we are bringing you a new look to these requirements to better help our customers establish connections for this new and exciting future.

Reviewing the connection and metering requirements

We are seeking feedback from industry stakeholders on our plans to provide a new look framework and format to the QECM, to better clarify and align with modern connection requirements including dynamic connections. We are also seeking feedback on our proposed pathway to move to nationally aligned metering requirements.

Please take a look at our consultation paper for Queensland’s Connection and Metering Requirements Review.

Please submit your feedback to the consultation paper by 13 May 2022 by sending us an email or filling out our brief feedback form below.

We shared more about the new look QECM during our webinar on 5 May 2022 - take a look at the recording or read through the QECM Webinar Presentation for more information.
